Billy TK Jnr is recognized as a genuine guitar hero, not only in New Zealand but also internationally after having toured the United States, Australia, the Pacific and New Zealand.

Billy has worked with a number of international acts including George Thorogood, the Neville Brothers, Joe Satriani, Tommy Emmanuel, Ian Moss, Junior Wells, Willie Foster, Wayne Toups among others.

George Thorogood was moved to comment, “I never expected him to be this good. He’s got the whole blues guitar thing completely down” - great accolades from the legend himself.

Billy has a style that has been described as “electrifying, blistering and of star quality” with a blend of great influences in his own material and covers of artists from Ben Harper to Eric Clapton.

Billy had just released his debut album in New Zealand ‘Three sides To A Mirror’ which is a melting pot of styles that also includes a unique Pacific sound and approach.

As Billy puts it, “I wanted to put into life a whole bunch of styles, not just the blues which I really love, but guitar solos that are apart of songs, not songs that are a part of guitar solos. I have all sorts on my album, blues, reggae and even a dance version of ‘Black Magic Woman’ ”.

Of his music, Billy says, "I am heavily influenced by Ry Cooder, SRV, Clapton, Hendrix, Santana as well as having a great respect for George Benson, Steve Vai and pacific rhythmic guitar players.

Taking these influences and building songs is what excites me - not only in the blues rock genre but other such styles such as pacific reggae. Pretty much songs that have guitar solos not guitar solos that happen to have songs.

Having said that, finding that awesome, far out, heart wrenching, spirit uplifting guitar solo is what continues me on that 'Indiana Jones' seach for it."
