Review of First Jam Night

If you were at the first H-Town blues jam like I was then you'll know that it was a happenin' place to be. WOW! What a great night for a first time event. Many showed their support by not just turning up but by participating too. We had individuals wanting to join with others, we had groups form on the night and we even people show who had been performing with each other for many years. I was delighted to see Pauline and hear her wonderful voice. It's just so wonderful to have so much support for the blues jams starting up again.

We had novices and pros and everyone in between. All participants went in the draw for a CD of their choice - Jimmy won, a fine young bass player and selected The Duke Meets the Earl ~ Duke Robillard and Ronnie Earl. Good choice Jimmy, I saw Duke play at the Founders a few years ago.

It was great to see participation. I hope the blues jams will have a user friendly atmosphere about them and that people will leave feeling they had a good time.

A big thank-you to Gordon, the manager of Biddy Mulligans for hosting the event and providing drinks.

Be sure to come by in March - remember, it's the second Thursday of each month that you'll hear Blues at Biddy's in H-Town. Be there!

Hey it was a great night and enjoyed by all. Big thanks to the motivated people who made it happen and to the supporters and players. Way past time for a Blues Revival.

Thanks gatman51, I agree, where have all the blues lovers gone!? We can do our part though to rekindle a fiery blues scene again in H-Town. Just spread the word that the Blues is back - Blues at Biddy's, I like the sound of that.
