Latest scenes from the Blues Jam ~ March 7

Here's a few hot shots (yeah and the photos aren't too bad either he he) of the blues jam at Biddys on March 7. A good sized crowd (and no I'm not drawing attention to anyone's weight) filled the booths on each side of the stage. We were supported by Community Radio Hamilton staff and programme DJs, with the manager, Phil, drawing the night's giveaway winner, Gary. Gary won the Stony Plain Records, 30th Anniversary 30 Years of Stony Plain, double CD + DVD, thanks to Holger Petersen, President of Stony Plain Records!

Some video footage was taken and is being worked on so we can view it at youtube, so stay tuned for that. If anyone has skills in this area let Nate know ok.

Not everyone who jammed is pictured here, unfortunately the camera left with Phil after he drew the winner of the CD. There were some great performances after 10.30pm and of course some nite-owls who came in wanting to jam. They were lucky to get up this time. It is preferred that all interested in performing sign up before 10.30pm, this way we have an idea of how long the night will be. Just see Nate with his clip board. He'll put you together with others or place you and your band on the performers chalk list. That way everyone gets to go in the draw for the free giveaway which is at 10.30pm and the house band don't stay up all hours packing gear away and Biddys staff can get home at a reasonable hour too. Aside from that little bleat you know the score ~ don't stand there knockin', come on in and let's get rockin! The Second Thursday of each month ~ Blues at Biddys.

For your information, I met up with Maxine, the President of the Hamilton Acoustic Club. She informs that Marg Layton (blues singer) and Derek Jacombs (vocalist/guitar for Kokomo) are passing thru H-Town in a few months, hey maybe we could get them to do a gig for us blues lovers at Biddys! I'll keep you posted.

And yes before I forget, I saw Pauline and her friends were at Biddy's early and had ordered themselves what looked like a hearty meal at the Biddy's Restaurant, a great idea worth checking out.

And now for the hot shots ...

John from the house band, this time on bass, and in the Zone!

See that guy on drums, well thats Bryon

You're welcome Phil, just doing my part to keep it happenin in Hamilton. There's a lot of talent here, young and old, experienced and in-experienced and if there can be a user friendly environment that bring s it all together then let it be Blues at Biddys!
